Christian worship involves praising God in music and speech, reading from the Bible, prayers of various sorts, a sermon, and special ceremonies (called sacraments) such as the Holy Communion. While worship is often thought of only as services in which Christians come together in a large congregation, individual Christians can worship God on their own, or in small groups, and in any place.
God is present during worship. Christians regard worship as something that they do for God, and something that God, through Jesus's example and the presence of the Holy Spirit is also at work in.
