NSW Heritage Grant Major Works Project 2017-2019
St Stephen's Uniting Church, Sydney
St Stephen's, founded in 1842, has been continuously located within the Macquarie Street precinct. It is associated with prominent people, the development of the Presbyterian and Uniting Churches in NSW and Australia, and as a significant example of the Inner West Gothic Architectural style, is one of three extant churches in that style.
The project involves replacement of box guttering, repairs to waterproof membranes and some stained glass to avoid further water damage to the fabric and interior of the building.
